How can I transfer my Miles in the previous frequent flyer programme (known as ‘Skywards’) to FlySmiLes?

SriLankan Airlines was an Affiliate of Skywards till 31 March 2008. The Miles you have earned on such a programme belong to you, and are issued by the previous frequent flyer programme. So if you wish to transfer any of those Miles, you should forward a written request to the nearest Skywards Service Centre or the Emirates Airlines office.

How many miles should I transfer to FlySmiLes?

It is your discretion to decide the number of Miles provided you have those Miles in your account. There is no lower limit or upper limit.

Until when can I request to transfer my earned miles?

There will be a cut-off date and Skywards will notify you of the deadline for transfers in the near future.

Is there an age limit to join FlySmiLes programme?

Yes. For the time being, we only allow registrations by applicants over 18 years of age.

Do FlySmiLes miles get credited automatically after a flight?

At the moment we are in the process of testing our new software support system to give full functionality to you. Thus please bear with us and forward a copy of your E-ticket and the boarding passes. However we expect the system to be fully functional by 01 July 2008 and credits are expected to be automatic thereafter in accordance with Terms and Conditions.

What can I redeem my redemption miles for?

At the moment, Miles can be redeemed for Tickets and Upgrades on SriLankan flights only. More airline and other service partners will be introduced in the future, for your convenience.

Can I get a Redemption Upgrade on another airline ticket but travelling on a SriLankan flight?

No. The upgrade will be given only on confirmed SriLankan Tickets (IATA Airline Code 603 documents).

If I am short of a certain number of redemption miles for a reward, can I purchase the balance miles?

You may do so, with a minimum of 2000 and up to a maximum of 25,000 Miles per calendar year. Please speak to the FlySmiLes Service Centre for further details.
