SriLankan Airlines’ Cargo Centre at the Bandaranaike International Airport handled an all-time high 146,883 metric tonnes of cargo during 2004, and looks set to do even better this year.

SriLankan Cargo, will launch a freighter service to the South Indian industrial city of Coimbatore on the 27th of April, yet another step in its strategy of linking major industrial cities in the region to Colombo and beyond. The twice-weekly service will operate on Wednesday and Saturday with the airline's two AN12F aircraft, which each have a capacity of 17 metric tonnes of cargo in Palletts. 04th April, 2005Passengers of SriLankan Airlines, the country’s national carrier, can now look forward to making their own airline reservations with the newly introduced internet booking engine from the privacy of their home, office or wherever an internet connection is available.
