Sherlock Holmes tries to prevent another ritual murder by Lord Henry Blackwood, who has killed five others to Holmes' knowledge. When they catch Blackwood, he tells Holmes of three more deaths slated to occur - and his hanging will not prevent them - for he has Scotland Yard soon convinced he is not really dead.
